Hooty
Your coding agents, on your own machine, from your phone.
A phone is a bad place to type code and a good place to supervise it. Hooty lists every agent session across your machines — the ones that need you on top — so you can start one, answer one, unblock one and check on the rest in ten seconds each.
What it does
- One wall, every machine
- Every Herdr and Orca pane on each of your Macs, one machine per page, grouped by repository. A stripe says which one is waiting on you.
- The real terminal
- Open a session and you are in the pane itself, drawn by libghostty at your phone’s size, with a key bar of your own under it.
- Told when it matters
- A notification or a Live Activity when an agent asks a question or a run fails — carrying the pane’s name and its state, never its output.
- Your machine, not a service
- The compute is your Mac. The phone talks to it directly over QUIC with pinned keys, on your Wi-Fi or through an encrypted tunnel when you are out. No account, no cloud in between.
Get started
- On your Mac:
brew install --cask KQAR/hooty/hooty, or the disk image from the latest release. Hooty lives in the menu bar. - On your phone: install Hooty for iPhone or Android, then Settings › Pair a host › Scan the code from the Mac’s menu.
